The Environment: Foot and Cycle Paths and Parking

THE ISSUES

  • Poor footpath provision & maintenance
  • Cycle paths would reduce pollution/traffic whilst still attracting visitors
  • Car Parks need to alleviate traffic in Fore Street , not make it worse
  • We need to locate space for car parks!

The Issues

Many people were in favour of providing additional footpaths for dog walking, recreation and nature studies.

Children, dog owners and tourists will all benefit if there are footpaths around the village away from the main road. Regeneration should include the existing and proposed extension to the Fal valley footpath from the village recreation ground to Tregony and also possibly the creation and retention of other paths in and around the village

The inclusion of Grampound in the National Cycle Network would both bring tourists and revenue to the village, but again development is stifled as a result of poor accessibility.
