1st GRAMPOUND RAINBOWS & GUIDES GROUP
Winter Report

Carnival Day in Grampound dawned this year with both the Rainbows and Guides entering floats.   The Rainbows theme was  “Down On The Farm” and the Guides was  “Surfing”.   Both floats were brilliant as the girls decorated them themselves, and they were greatly appreciated by the crowds along the carnival route.

Rainbows has started well this term with fifteen girls attending.   As well as all the usual activities, they have each planted a Guide Centenary bulb to grow at home.

The Guides have also been busy this term.   They have planted The Guide Centenary Bulbs around the bus shelter at the bottom of Old Hill.   So keep your eyes open to see them flowering in March next year  (fingers crossed).   The girls have started working towards their Activity and Active Response badges as a unit and also been Ten Pin Bowling.

We are holding a workshop on Sunday the 8th November to construct some lanterns for the City of Lights Parade which takes place on Wednesday the 18th November in Truro.

Our main project for the rest of the term is to make various items to sell on a stall we have booked at the Grampound Christmas Produce Market on Saturday 12th December.   This is a business project for us as any profit made will go towards our ice skating trip.

The Guides will also be providing their “Village Christmas Card Delivery Service” on Grampound again this year for a small fee.   Like last year the post box will be situated in Grampound Post Office and the service will start at the beginning of December, so look out for the notice.   We look forward to your support.
