The Sunday Club

Instead of the annual Sunday Club party we had a trip to Crealy Adventure Park this year. We were lucky that the weather stayed fine, after a short downpour while we were buying our tickets. However, despite the fine weather, not many of us stayed dry! One of the children fell in a puddle almost as soon as we got out of the car and got soaked from the waist down! The most popular attraction of the afternoon was the log flumes, and not everyone wanted to wear a waterproof poncho, so they suffered the consequences instead!

We have made some changes recently to how we run the sessions, partly in response to feedback from the children. The 8-11s group have been working through a course entitled ‘Y God’, which has proved popular. The sessions have given the children a chance to think about questions such as ‘Who was Jesus’ real Dad: God or Joseph’; ‘ Why did Jesus have to die?’; ‘How did Jesus come back to life?’; ‘How do we know the Bible is true’. I think it has helped them to realise that it is OK to ask questions, and that we don’t always have all the answers!

We will be Carol Singing again at Christmas – look out for posters nearer the time. We don’t usually collect money for anything when we do this, so if we knock on your door, it is just to let you know that we are there so that you can enjoy the carols!

Everyone Welcome!
