Our Service of Nine Lessons and Carols

Will the evening of 15 th December be a Joyous one for you?

For the last two years Pat and myself have visited St. Petroc’s Church at Bodmin with our daughter Allison for the Service of Lessons and Carols. It is an incredibly beautiful and joyous occasion with the Church decorated by many Christmas Trees of every shape and size, and all provided by working and charitable organisations within Bodmin. I think the fact of their presence may also contribute to the size of the congregation - the Church was full to the doors! You are probably ahead of me here in thinking “We could do that at Grampound”. I spoke to our Team Rector REVD. IAN MORRIS, and was pleased that I could try for Christmas 2006.

St. Nun’s Church Grampound is small when compared to St. Petroc’s Church at Bodmin, and I have been delighted with the response from everyone I have asked to help the project, infact everyone has said yes.

I hope you will come to the Service of Lessons and Carols at St. Nun’s on the evening of the 15 th December - it should be a special evening.

The following Grampound organisations have agreed to provide a Christmas Tree. They are:

The Grampound Times, The Women’s Institute, The Football Club, The Bowling Club, The Rainbows & Guide Co., The Sunday Club,
and The Parish Council.

The detail of the Service is being arranged by DAVID SCHOLAR who along with the Rector will read a Lesson. Also reading will be CHRISTOPHER PAYNTER, DR. HILARY VEAL, ALLAN WEBB, MISS HOLLY RABEY, MASTER CHARLIE CROGGON, MRS. SYLVIA REID and COUNCILLOR DONNA STILL.
