It has been an incredibly busy start to the school year with seven weeks of the term already completed at the time of writing, and all children and staff enjoying well-earned half term holidays.
We are spending this term discovering the Ancient Egyptians and so both classes paid a visit to the Ancient Egyptian centre in Dobwalls. It is well hidden but worth a visit as we discovered many artefacts and most interestingly for the children, how to mummify a body! Class 2 also visited the clay pit areas around Gilles Mica Dam and planted oak trees, which will form a major part of the development of the area with cycle paths and trekking areas.
On the sporting front we have once again performed well above ourselves for such a small school with many mentions already in the Cornish Guardian for our cross-country achievements. Already Anna Venning has won her first two races of the season and the Tag Rugby team were recently crowned champions of the 9 Roseland Cluster Primary schools, winning tickets for the recent Cornish Pirates match against Bedford.
We have more sporting events planned for the next half term but are already looking forward to the busy Christmas half term. Why not pay a visit to www.grampoundwithcreed.ik.org to keep up to date with what’s happening at our busy little school.
