Rainbows like the Guides had a very good day at Grampound Carnival; our entry “ Alice in Wonderland” gained 1 st Prize, a big “Well done!” to the parents for the fantastic costumes this year - you all did a really excellent job. A special “Thank you” to REBECCA PEEL who decorated the float with a beautiful floral display, it seemed a shame to take it apart at the end of the day. Thanks also to JOHN and CHARLES RICHARDS for lending us the tractor and trailer.
I think the highlight of this term has been the visit from CLIFF PENROSE who brought his prize-winning rabbits to see us; they ranged from a tiny Netherland Dwarf to an English giant who weighed in at 21 lbs. We also had a visit from DONNA and JADE STILL who brought their nine Sprocker puppies to see us. (Sprockers are a cross-breed between a Springer and a Cocker Spaniel) A further visit from two members of the St. Austell library brought stories and activities for the Rainbows.
The Rainbows have also been to Mevagissey and joined the Guides at a fund-raising evening for the Children In Need Appeal.
Rainbows are held on Thursday nights, and are for girls aged 5 to 7 years - for more details please give me a call at 01726 882877.
