The Grampound Events Diary
What a good idea!

Whilst visiting the Dolphin Inn recently on a Wednesday and enjoying “The Pensioners Lunch” served I read the poster displayed there declaring that
“ THE GRAMPOUND EVENTS DIARY IS ALIVE AND WELL AT THE POST OFFICE”

- but is it ?

BUTTERFLIES IN CORNWALL – a talk with photographs and slides was scheduled to take place in the Village Hall on the 17 th October at 7pm - sadly this scheduling clashed exactly with the Annual Harvest Supper arranged by the Women’s Institute!!

KNEEHIGH THEATRE COMPANY - a long awaited visit, looked forward to by many people and arranged for the 9 th November - Oh! Dear, that is when the Grampound with Creed Parish Council meets for it’s monthly meeting!

On the 11 th November evening the Carnival arranged a treat for us by presenting a RON HICKS SLIDE SHOW – GRAMPOUND THROUGH THE YEARS , but did it really need to clash with the standard once per month Sunday Evening Service at St. Nuns?

The “Grampound Events Diary” was someone’s excellent idea to ensure that everyone would have the opportunity to attend any village event they wished. Events Organisers would need to consult the Diary BEFORE fixing the date for their planned event - if the date they wanted was clear, fine, but if someone had already used it then consider choosing another date - then record their chosen date in the diary. Such a simple procedure enables us all to show consideration for others and most importantly INCREASES THE ATTENDANCE AT OUR OWN EVENT!

So come on organisers, please use the “Grampound Events Diary” situated at the Post Office and make it truly alive and well.
