Crossing the road in Grampound is often difficult and dangerous particularly for the young and elderly members of our society. The School Crossing Officer is vital to help keep our children safe. The Grampound Times is therefore, pleased to carry the notice below.
Our Patrol, Maurice, is retiring in October this year after nearly three years crossing parents and children on their way to and from the Primary School. Whilst thanking Maurice for his work we are now looking to recruit his replacement. The post will be vacant as from the 1st October. Times on duty are 08.15 to 09.05 and 14.55 to 15.20 term time only, £240 per month ( £11,995 pa pro rata) paid twelve months of the year. The post requires a CRB check and a medical check of sight, hearing and general health. Full training and uniform are provided with the option also of joining the Cornwall Council Pension Scheme. If you feel you could be that vital link ensuring the safety of children and adults as they cross the road, please contact Michael Goddard, School Crossing Patrol Co-ordinator (Cornwall Council) via 01872 327895 or email mgoddard@cornwall.gov.uk.
