The Grampound Times

Steve and Victoria Moorcroft and their children were Grampound residents until quite recently. Steve was a policeman and stalwart member of Grampound Football Club and Victoria was a governor at our village school, where their children attended. Many will remember Steve suffering a horrendously broken leg in January 2003 playing football against Probus but he eventually recovered and returned from his injury 16 months later and again made himself a first-team regular.

Steve e-mailed me recently and sends his best wishes to all who remember him and I am pleased to note that he is continuing to play football in the Westmorland League. The family moved from Grampound for Steve to study and take the cloth and they now live in Kendal in the Lake District where it looks, from his collar in the picture below, that he has managed to achieve his ambition!
