CARNIVAL WEEK PROGRAMME 2007

 TUESDAY 28 TH AUGUST Children’s Sports & Family Rounders - Sports start at 6pm followed by ‘Fancy Dress Rounders. Maximum of 8 persons per team with at least 4 of Primary School age. If you haven’t got a team together on the night, just turn up anyway - I’m sure someone will need you.

WEDNESDAY 29 TH AUGUST Pig Race Night in the Dolphin Inn - always a great night. If you’ve never been before, come along and see what you’ve been missing.

THURSDAY 30 TH AUGUST A night for the young and the not-so-young. Prize Bingo in the village Community Hall. Eyes down at 7.30pm

FRIDAY 31 ST AUGUST Reserve Sports Night - just in case!

SATURDAY 1 ST SEPTEMBER Carnival Day in the Recreation Ground.

Official Opening at 2pm by Pirate FM’s BOB Mc CREADIE.

The afternoon will have stalls, games, refreshments, Cornish Beer tent, children’s entertainment, hog roast and lots more.

The Carnival procession will leave the field at 6pm and include Indian Queens Silver Band, Drumba Samba Band and the Pipes & Drums Band. On returning to the field the prize giving will commence, and then on to the evening entertainment with The Flowerpot Men.

Please come along and enjoy a wonderful village day!

Unlike many other places where carnival has sadly died, here in Grampound not only does it continue to thrive, but just look at the number and variation of Class opportunities that continue to be on offer - and every one offering prize money and winners trophy. There just has to be something suitable for you (or your family) to take part in! Of course it would be a strange carnival if everyone took part leaving no one to watch and enjoy. So please on Carnival Day get your family and friends around and make the carnival procession a really happy time.

ENTRIES FOR THE CARNIVAL WILL BE TAKEN ON THE FIELD BETWEEN 3PM AND 4PM

PLEASE MAKE CERTAIN THAT YOUR VEHICLE IS SUITABLY INSURED FOR THE CARNIVAL PROCESSION

ORGANISERS WILL INSPECT ALL ENTRIES FOR CURRENT SAFETY REQUIREMENTS.

ASSEMBLE FOR JUDGING AT 5PM – PROCESSION AT 6PM.
