FREE LOCAL BUS TRAVEL !!

Just in case, like me, you didn’t pick up the good news when originally published, as from Saturday 1st April 2006 residents of Cornwall aged 60 years, and people with certain disabilities, will be able to travel on Cornwall’s local bus services free. Free travel will apply during peak and off-peak times, 24 hours a day, on all registered bus services in Cornwall and those crossing the border into Plymouth and Devon.

If you have not already applied here are the rules for doing so: You should take proof of age, likeness and address along to your local library where an application form can be completed and a photograph taken for the card. Proof consists of evidence such as a passport (likeness) and driving licence (age and address). People with certain disabilities who are applying are required to provide evidence of their disability, such as a medical certificate.

The Concessionary Fares scheme is run by the six district councils in Cornwall and administered on their behalf by Cornwall County Council.
