The decision of the Parish Council to enter Grampound into the Calor Best Village Competition proved to be an excellent one in every way.   Not least of the benefits that resulted was the formation of the “TUESDAY CLUB”.   I am grateful to have received the following report which very clearly shows the interesting programme of events that have been introduced for  our more senior citizens.

Grampound's Tuesday Club

Our first meeting of the New Year, was an informative and enjoyable talk and video by DAVID and BERYL BANNISTER, on their visit to a Buckingham Palace Garden Party last Summer.   We all looked forward to the 20th January, when we met at  The Dolphin Inn for lunch which was followed by tea mat the Village Hall and our Annual General Meeting.   JULIETTE DYSON  was elected as Chairman,  REG BRACKEN  as Treasurer and TINA  and TERRY TYLER  to share the Secretarial duties.

Unfortunately the meeting for the 3rd February was cancelled, due to the heavy snowfall, and will be arranged for a later date.   Since then we have had an amusing and most enlightening talk by Kim from the Trading Standards Office, with really excellent advice on how to avoid scams and to recognise inferior and dangerous products..

At the time of writing, we look forward to a talk and demonstration on Acupuncture, a Ballroom Dance demonstration and Transition Grampound talk by  BOB EGERTON.

We are a very sociable and lively group, so if you would like to have a good laugh and a chat, a cup of tea and biscuits, and some gentle exercise come along and join in the fun.
