After a cold and long winter the club will indeed be looking forward to the opening of the outdoor season, which for us this year will be on Saturday the 11th April, 2pm for 2.30pm. Mr. MICHAEL GALSWORTHY has kindly agreed to perform the “Opening” ceremony of the green .
Much work over the Autumn and Winter will hopefully give us a good start to our green preparations, and we are looking forward to a happy and successful season. (Spring work has already started)
We had an enjoyable evening at the Pier House at our Annual Dinner which was kindly organised by MRS. ELSPETH SUMMERS, many thanks to her from us all.
Short mat has continued to be played in the pavilion during the Winter months and has been mfairly well supported - the revenue from this is a great help towards the maintenance of the club.
On 25th April we have our Coffee Morning starting at 10.30am. We would love to see any new members particularly from the village, where if flat shoes or trainers are worn we could give instruction on bowling - no other equipment is needed as we keep some bowls at the club. Once tried I am sure that you would get hooked just like us!
Due to health reasons regretfully we have lost some of our past members and therefore, we need to recruit new members. Any age welcome!
In this coming season we shall very sadly miss FRANK WAY a member who loved and worked hard for the club and who passed away during December last. Our condolences go out to his wife AUDREY and his family.
Finally, my Best Wishes to you all, and I do hope that we might see some of you on April 11th or April 25th.
