DEVON & CORNWALL WATERFOWL TRUST

Many of you may not realise that the organisation even exists, but we certainly should because a long standing member of our community is the boss man! Local farmer and businessman JOHN RICHARDS is its Chairman, and he is also Chairman of the organisations major show held recently at The Royal Cornwall showground. An idea of the extent of interest nationally in waterfowl can be obtained when realising that the Wadebridge show attracted more than 800 entries, some travelling from as far away as Wales.

We offer hearty CONGRATULATIONS! to you JOHN for the work and dedication you give to helping ensure that the competitive show continues which helps maintain interest in and preservation of, many rare birds. You were probably proud that at this years show a Cornishman , Simon James of Helston held off the challenge of Welshman Graham Barnard to become Show Champion, but from Grampound folks point of view it must be CONGRATULATIONS! to the winner of the class for Best Embden Goose, and who was that? Well MR. JOHN RICHARDS of course!
