The Parish is entering a period of change as our Rector, IAN MORRIS is retiring. Unfortunately due to an accident leaving him with a severely broken ankle, he is unable to set a firm date for leaving - it was to have been the end of March and is now possibly the end of May. We all wish him a speedy and successful recovery so that he can make his future plans.
Fortunately we now have four retired Vicars in the parishes so services should continue reasonably as normal until our new rector is appointed which hopefully will be about the end of the year.
Plans are already going ahead for the new appointment and if you have any observations on the requirements for a new rector please let a Parochial Church Council Member know.
Our activities are going ahead as normal; a good Nine Lessons and Carols Service with an excellent decoration of the church with Christmas Trees from the village organisations arranged by Roger Paynter. We have had a suggestion that next year we have a more traditional service and we are looking into this.
The Christingle Service included an organised walk to the Parish Church at Creed illuminated by lanterns made and carried by the children. This contributed to making the Service interesting and exciting for all.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Winter Fair which raised an excellent £455. Pancake Day boosted funds by a further £80 and thanks go to Mrs. C. Rentoul for this.
Future activities are being considered and hopefully there will be definite news in the next issue. In the meantime here are some dates for your Diary and please look out for future posters.
