Minutes of Committee Meeting held at Community Hall, 27th January 2006

Correspondence
Bill read a letter from Ronnie appreciating the invite to the Christmas meal. Also Trewithen Estates wrote in to confirm they will pay for the Christmas tree.

Christmas 2005
Tree: it was agreed next year to approach Sarah Daniels at Pengelly for a tree.
Lights: PAT sheet awaited from Rob Newland. It was agreed the Parish Council be approached concerning putting lights along the roofline of the houses in Fore St due to vandalism and time taken to maintain tree lights (although tree was still felt to be a good idea) – Action Donna

Future Events
Valentine Quiz and Pasty :
Date set for 18 th Feb – pasties arrive 7-7.30; judging 7.30-8.00; quiz starts 8pm. Quiz questions – action Simon.
Posters and fliers to be devised – action Simon – and copied, action Joe, and distributed – action Joe to direct who does where. Action Mary to speak to Dawn Harris re colour photocopier in Community Hall – what is needed to make it work, can we contribute and use??
Judges – action Sylvia to ask Margaret in Probus butchers; action Bill to ask John and Linda Hodgson.

Mevagissey Male Choir
It was proposed the Carnival Committee arrange advertising, hire the hall and complete booking form; the Church deals with all expenses and transportation of the Choir and refreshments at the event; Choir expected to do their own tickets. Action Bill to confirm this with the Choir and Church.

Easter Bonnet and Bingo
Hall booked for 21 st April – details to be discussed next meeting. (NB date to be set for Easter Egg Hunt)
Auction
It was agreed this take place in May – Action Joe to confirm date with Nigel and Louisa in the Dolphin. Action all to start gathering good quality items and approach various institutions.
Action Simon – in addition to pasty and quiz fliers and posters a “forthcoming events” poster to be done.
