Grampound Carnival 2008

Carnival Day 2007 will be Saturday 6th September, with other events during the week leading up to that day (see below)..

Monday 1st September:
            Prize Bingo in the Community Hall  - Eyes Down at 7.30pm

Tuesday 2nd September:
            “Quiz Night”  to be held in the Dolphin Inn, maximum 6 persons per team with an entry fee of £1 per person.   Sure to be fun,  SIMON  is  our Quiz Master  -  always a little twist to catch you out! 8.30pm start.

Wednesday 3rd September         
            Children’s Sports & Family Rounders  -  Sports start at 6pm  -  lots of races for all ages including a slow bike race, so please bring your bike.   The Sports will be followed by Fancy Dress Rounders with a maximum of 8 per team with at least 4 being Primary School age.   If you havn’t got a team together don’t worry, just turn up on the night and I’m sure someone will need you.

Thursday 4th September:
            Pig Race Night in the Dolphin Inn  -  guaranteed to be a great fun night.   If you’ve not been to a Pig Race Night before, come along and see just what you’ve been missing.

Friday  5th September:
            Reserve Sports Night  -  we will keep you updated during the week of any changes to the programme.

Saturday 6th September:
            Carnival Day in the Recreation Ground  -  Carnival ~Fete official opening ceremony at 2pm by special guest  Johnny Cowling.
The Carnival Procession will leave the field at 6pm and include St. Austell Town Band,  Indian Queens Silver Band, the Kernow Pipes and Drums and the Drumba Samba Band.   As usual the presentation of Awards & Prizes will take place after the  Procession.   This year’s after Carnival entertainment will be provided by  “The Neon Love Chicks”.
Entries for the Carnival will be taken at the Fete between 3pm and 4pm or by contacting Donna Still on 01726 882284, email Rudenottoo@tiscali.co.uk  if you want to enter before the day.
Please make sure your vehicle is suitably insured for the Carnival Procession.   Organisers will inspect all entries for current safety requirements before departure.
