GRAMPOUND TUESDAY CLUB

Tuesday afternoons have become a regular entry in the diaries of a goodly number of Grampound people. The fortnightly gatherings provide a welcome opportunity to meet together in The Community Hall between 1pm and 3pm. A variety of activities has been programmed, including a talk on Healthy Eating, when members were able to assess the balance of their diets. The importance of fruits and vegetables was emphasised and tasters of home made Smoothies were enjoyed. On another occasion, environmental issues were addressed in a talk on ~Recycling, encouraging listeners to try harder in this respect. A real highlight was RON HICK’S slide show, video and audio presentation on aspects of life in Grampound. As we have come to expect, Ron’s shows always delight.

After the summer break, meetings will resume in September. A programme for the Autumn is being finalised and will be available in advance. Please look out for notices and flyers. One regular feature will be a short gentle exercise session at the beginning of each meeting led by CHRIS CLEATOR of LEAP - a NHS initiative to promote greater fitness in the community. This will be followed by various talks, craft instruction, cookery demonstrations, etc.

The most appreciated aspect of the Tuesday Club is the ability to meet one another in an informal and convivial atmosphere. Why not give it a try? Transport can be provided if needed.
