GRAMPOUND’S TODDLER GROUP
“Farewell to the old and hello to the new”

Children really do grow up so fast! Most of the ‘original’ children who were not even walking when the toddler group started in the new hall back in 2004 have now reached the ripe old age of 4 and will be off to school in September. During this time numbers have risen and fallen, but the core membership of children from this village has been constant, and I do believe that in this respect it has played an important part in maintaining and fostering the sense of “community” which exists in Grampound. Our children have forged firm early friendships and we have all, parents and children, had a lot of fun along the way.

Although I have carried the label of chair person, the running of the group really has been a team effort, so I would like to thank fellow committee members NICOLA STEPHENS and LOUISE HARRIS for their support. Also DONNA STILL for her valued input and PAULA PENDA for her apparently boundless enthusiasm and energy. We are all grateful to Grampound School, and we would like to thank MRS. HADDY for allowing us the use of the hall for our meetings.

Now to the future. It seems that having had a short break, the stork has been busy in Grampound again, and a new toddler group generation may be waiting in the wings. As the current committee retires, arrangements are being made for a continuation of a very similar group to be run under the umbrella of the school.

We wish JACQUI and all those involved in organising the new group the greatest luck and to all the parents and the little children who come along after ours, we wish the very very happiest of toddlerhoods. Those early years are magical and so precious!

Kind Wishes
AMANDA TSE
