GRAMPOUND WITH CREED SCHOOL P.F.A

Well the Summer holidays are nearly upon us and with the start of the warmer weather the PFA have embarked on a new fundraising appeal. After the mammoth efforts of last year, we decided to have a quieter start to the year and take stock in all that was achieved in 2006. The ICT equipment has now been fully installed into the school and all the classes, children and teachers are enjoying the massive benefits that it has brought to their learning experience

This year the PFA have been asked to develop the outside area of the school further, most of you will remember the amazing achievements brought to the school with the creation of the new Garden. This has been much utilised and very much enjoyed by all. With this in mind, and the need for extension to play areas for the smaller children, the school have approached the PFA to help with this terrific scheme. So far, committee members have erected a new huff and puff shed for the school and new outside storage boxes. It is hoped that we will be able to open up the area near the main reception and create a safe all weather play zone for the smaller children along with safety flooring and new playground markings other exciting ideas include the new sand and water play areas. Part of this work, it is hoped, will start during the school holidays (weather permitting) and it is thought that it will be a rolling project set to run from now to 2008. All fundraising will go towards the costs for this improvement and it is hoped that we will not only receive help financially but also in the form of labour and materials. As mentioned fundraising events for this year have been quieter than last but are still progressing well. We are due to hold the School Summer Fete on July 16 th and there will be a lovely array of stalls to satisfy all. It is hoped that some autumn activities will take place this year such as quiz nights and family evenings. Again a huge thank you is extended to everyone who supports the events and the committee as it is only with your tireless help that we are able to achieve so much.
