

ANN CUNDY who died peacefully at her St. Mawes home after a long illness on the 31 st March 2007. Widow of Grampound’s Brian Cundy, her Funeral Service was conducted at St. Just in Roseland Church on the 13 th April followed by interment there with her husband.
DESMOND ( DES ) NEWMAN of “Dunroamin” , Fore Street, Grampound. After a long illness he passed away peacefully at the Mount Edgcumbe Hospice on the 11 th April 2007. His family with a large gathering of friends attended at Trelawney Chapel, Penmount, Truro, on the 20 th April 2007 for a Funeral Service.
LUCILLE MARGARET ANNE RUSSELL : Resident at Trenowth House before her death on the 12 th April 2007. A Thanksgiving For Life and Funeral Service was held at Creed Parish Church on the 21 st April 2007. Visitors during the days following the Service shared the glorious and beautifully scented flowers that adorned St. Crida’s Church.
SARAH CHINN : Resident at “Rowan Berry” Pepo Lane, her young life was very tragically lost following a road traffic accident on the 24 th April 2007. Sarah’s happy life was celebrated at the Penmount Crematorium on the 3 rd May 2007 by her family and a great host of friends at what was undoubtedly the largest funeral gathering I have ever been present at. At her request no formal clothes were worn - brightness was the order of the day, demonstrating Sarah’s own zest for life whilst she was with us.
HETTY BAWDEN : For much of her long life a resident of Grampound, Mrs. Bawden died peacefully aged 92 years at the Woodland House Residential Home on the 5 th May 2007. Almost up to the time of her death the Grampound Times was included in her affections, and over the preceding years she contributed many valuable interesting recollections regarding Grampound’s past as well as giving financial support. A Funeral Service was held at Penmount Crematorium on the 16 th May 2007.
ELSIE SCOTT (Nee MANNELL ) : She emigrated to Canada from Grampound many years ago. It was on a Cruise Ship holiday to the Caribbean with her husband Jack that she tragically fell on a stairway, striking her head and resulting in her death. Airlifted off the ship for treatment she sadly succumbed to her injuries and died on the 2 nd April 2007. Although living a great distance away Elsie maintained her contact with Grampound through the pages of the “Grampound Times” each edition being sent to her by her sister AUDREY . Her Funeral Service was conducted at the Arlington Woods Free Methodist Church, Nepean, Ontario, Canada, on the 13 th April 2007.
RAYMOND HOCKING : Aged 81 he died peacefully on the 20 th June 2007 at the Penrice Hospital, St. Austell. In earlier years a resident at Old Hill, Grampound, he moved with his wife to Grampound Road. At the time of his death his home was at St. Dennis.
