Unfortunately some hirings, such as badminton, have come to a halt, although hopefully this is only temporary. There is a new Drumba session on Wednesday evenings that teaches Samba drumming to all ages. The main contact is Jack Bell on 07825 648085 and he will be leading his troup in Grampound Carnival on 1 st September.

For other regular events please check with me or the event leader for confirmation as they do not occur every week –, e.g. Julie Blayney for Guides and Rainbows; Margie Lundie for Senior Citizen’s Club. The Tuesday Club continues to grow and offer a wide range of interesting talks, events and opportunities for people to meet.

If there is anyone who would like to start a new group or activity Monday evenings are available from 6pm (at time of writing). I will try to source another activity, such as dancing, if I can but this is always dependent upon the activity leader’s availability as well as the hall’s. Alternatively if one of the events that have stopped want to start up again then please let me know.

Rogue Theatre – ‘Madame Lucinda's Wonder Show’

7+

Amazing show blending the innocent with the macabre, the real with the fantastic. A journey into the world of imagination, mystery, spectacle and horror.

I had hoped that 2008 would have started with a Miracle performance of Rumplestiltskin’s Revenge on 5 th January as reported in the last issue. Unfortunately the Miracle Board has decided to postpone this show from all its booked venues whilst they consider what direction they want to take.

I will be following up this postponement to find out the reasons behind it. The one certain fact is that the continuation of Touring Drama depends on funding and attendances. Local residents can perhaps enquire what happens to Arts Council funding but the best way you can show that demand for such shows is still strong is to come along and show your support by attending. I try to arrange a varied menu so I know that everyone will not want to go to all things but if there is something in the menu you are thinking of coming to then COME ALONG!! Grampound has a great venue and we want quality acts to continue to come here.
